The Parks Agency have been involved in a number of exciting parks and public space projects, some of which are outlined below:
Take a look at some of the other projects we have worked on.
Handsworth Park was restored to the highest standards by Birmingham City Council, funded by HLF, under the expert direction of Hilary Taylor Associates. An authentic colour scheme added greatly to the park's finished appearance. Stewart monitored the project through the development and implementation stages.
The £5 million scheme to restore Ashton Court Estate was completed in 2008, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund in partnership with Bristol City Council. Stewart has been involved with the restoration of Ashton Court since 1990 and has worked closely throught with Nigel Sands, Project Manager.
David worked closely with the applicants and their designers Land Use Consultants on this comprehensive restoration of the principal park in Barrow in Furness. The completed project was awarded first prize in Heritage and Conservation in the Landscape Institute awards for 2007, and in 2008 Barrow was North West Regional Winner of the Briggs and Stratton Britain's Best Park Competition.
The Parks Agency has worked closely with the National Trust on the restoration of the walled garden at Monk Coniston in Cumbria. The project has also included works to link the garden with Tarn Hows, the picturesque beauty spot created by the owners of the mansion and now visited by millions in search of the typical Lakeland scene.
The view from the National Trust property towards the neighbouring town of Tiverton is threatened by urban development. In 2007 The Parks Agency carried out an exhaustive study of the setting of the property including analysis of historic designed vistas.
